Rehabilitation and therapy services
Depending on your treatment plan, rehabilitation or therapy services may be encouraged before you can be safely discharged home. Our rehabilitation centers offer inpatient therapy that helps patients maximize their capabilities after experiencing a stroke, hip fracture, brain injury, amputation or other orthopedic conditions. Our fully equipped rehabilitation gym helps patients return to the most meaningful and productive life possible. Methodist Healthcare has six inpatient rehabilitation centers as well as outpatient therapy options throughout San Antonio for your convenience.

Joint replacement centers
The Joint Replacement Centers throughout Methodist Healthcare are dedicated inpatient centers for elective joint replacement surgeries. The Joint Replacement Centers are home to orthopedic surgeons, technicians, nurses, occupational therapists and physical therapists who help knee and hip replacement patients return to their favorite activities as soon as possible. These coordinated care programs are designed to provide a care approach from pre-op education through recovery for all joint replacement patients.

Very Important Athlete Program
A key benefit of the Methodist Sports Medicine program is our Very Important Athlete (VIA) Program that provides expedited access to one of Methodist Healthcare’s ERs when an athlete has a medical emergency during a sporting event. Working alongside head athletic trainers at various participating schools, the Methodist Sports Medicine athletic trainers coordinate care so that injured athletes can receive prompt evaluation by our ER medial team.
