Methodist Hospital Texsan has been named a HeartCARE Center™ by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), earning a National Distinction of Excellence that recognizes the hospital’s comprehensive cardiovascular program and sustained commitment to quality, safety and outcomes. The accreditation is effective February 26, 2026, through February 25, 2027.

The HeartCARE Center designation reflects the coordinated, expert heart care delivered with a personalized approach that patients experience every day at Texsan. Awarded following a rigorous onsite review, the designation recognizes hospitals that meet or exceed ACC standards across the full continuum of cardiovascular care — from diagnosis and intervention to recovery and long-term management.

“This designation reinforces why patients trust Texsan with their hearts,” said Esther Kwon, chief executive officer of Methodist Hospital Texsan. “It validates our long-standing focus on combining advanced cardiovascular care with a personalized approach, where patients are known, supported and treated with the level of attention and consistency they deserve.”

As part of the HeartCARE Center review, the ACC determined that Methodist Hospital Texsan met all mandatory requirements for the distinction, recognizing the strength of its multidisciplinary cardiovascular program and its commitment to continuous performance improvement.

“HeartCARE Center recognition reflects the dedication, coordination and clinical rigor our teams bring to cardiovascular care every day,” said Dr. Obinna Isiguzo, a board-certified cardiologist, immediate past chief of cardiology and current Chief of medical staff at Methodist Hospital Texsan. "From timely diagnosis through complex cardiac interventions including electrophysiology and heart failure management, our physicians, nurses and care teams follow evidence-based guideline directed standards and continuously evaluate outcomes to ensure our patients receive the highest level of heart care. This Heartcare center designation affirms the consistent quality and accountability our patients can expect when they entrust us at Texsan with their heart care and in line with our mission commitment to continue to serve humanity to honor God.”

Texsan’s cardiovascular program is supported by multiple ACC accreditations, including Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology, with Chest Pain Accreditation currently in progress. The hospital has also earned the ACC’s NCDR Chest Pain–MI Registry Platinum Performance Award, placing Texsan among the nation’s top performers for heart attack care and outcomes.

For patients, these distinctions translate into timely diagnosis, coordinated treatment and confidence that their care aligns with nationally recognized, evidence-based standards — delivered close to home in a setting known for access, familiarity and individualized attention.

Methodist Hospital Texsan has maintained HeartCARE Center designation for six consecutive years, underscoring a sustained track record of cardiovascular excellence and a continued focus on improving heart care for the community.
