Routine checkup leads to lifesaving liver transplant

A San Antonio man’s annual physical revealed a serious liver condition — and led him to Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant.

Carlos Tristan learned he had stage 4 liver cirrhosis and a cancerous liver lesion after routine lab work showed elevated liver levels. After three years on the transplant list, Carlos received a donor liver and a second chance at life.
