Fredericksburg, Texas — Methodist Hospital | Hill Country recently participated in the Rowan Windham Memorial Cereal Drive, collecting more than 300 boxes of cereal to support families in need across the Texas Hill Country.

Together, Methodist Hospital | Hill Country colleagues collected 11,166 servings of cereal, which were donated to the Hill Country Community Needs Council, the Mason food bank, and the Blanco County food bank.

The Rowan Windham Memorial Cereal Drive honors the legacy of Rowan Windham, a former Methodist Children’s Hospital patient whose compassion inspired an annual effort to help children and families experiencing food insecurity. What began as one child’s selfless request to donate cereal instead of toys or gifts has continued to grow into a tradition of generosity across South Texas.

“Methodist Hospital | Hill Country is proud to take part in this meaningful effort to support families in our community,” said Clint Kotal, CEO of Methodist Hospital | Hill Country. “Our colleagues’ generosity reflects their commitment to caring for others, both inside and outside the walls of our hospital. We are honored to help continue Rowan’s legacy of compassion by supporting local families in need.”

The cereal collected by Methodist Hospital | Hill Country will help provide breakfast for families served by the Hill Country Community Needs Council and other local food banks.

Methodist Hospital | Hill Country extends its gratitude to the colleagues who contributed to this year’s drive and helped make a positive impact for neighbors throughout the region.
