What:

Methodist Healthcare will offer free Hands-Only CPR training to Fiesta San Antonio attendees at select events, helping community members build the confidence to respond in a cardiac emergency. The first 5,000 people who complete the training will receive a commemorative Methodist Healthcare Fiesta medal.

Nearly 90% of people who suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest do not survive. When CPR is started immediately, it can double or even triple a victim’s chance of survival.

Methodist Healthcare nurses and volunteers will provide fast, hands-on instruction designed to teach a simple yet lifesaving skill. Cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death in the United States, and immediate action from a bystander can make a critical difference before emergency responders arrive.
