Emergency care for stroke patients
For many patients, the road to recovery begins when they are transported to Methodist Hospital. All ER nurses are stroke-certified by the National Institutes of Health and can administer tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) with physicians’ orders.
For stroke or brain injury patients, the moment the Methodist AirCare helicopter—a state-of-the-art emergency medical transport helicopter touches down, the medical crew aboard is ready to immediately begin administering an intensive level of medical care based on the specific needs of the patient, especially patients in rural communities who require a higher level of care.
Methodist AirCare maintains full accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems.
