Visiting our hospital
At Methodist Hospital, we know that having a family member or loved one in the hospital can be extremely stressful, so we strive to provide all the amenities you need so you can focus on what is important.
Methodist Hospital visitation guidelines
Parking
Valet parking is free for registered handicap vehicles and visitors going the emergency room. Valet is 24/7, located at 7700 Floyd Curl in the Emergency entrance.
Accessibility services (ADA accommodations)
We strive to make our facility accessible to all visitors. Wheelchairs are available at the main entrance, and all public areas are designed for accessibility. If you need assistance, please speak with a staff member.
Cafeteria
Our hospital cafeteria is located on Sub Level 1 and is open seven days a week, with the following service hours:
- 6 am - 10 am
- 11 am- 7 pm
- 11 pm - 2 am
- 3 am - 4:30 am
Visitors can also enjoy the Rosella Café on the first floor in the central tower.
Gift shop
Methodist Hospital Blue Bird Gift Shop offers snacks, flowers, and personal items. It is located on the first floor in the central tower and open Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm.
Interpreter services
Interpreter services are available for non-English-speaking patients and families. For assistance, please call (833) 219-9689.
Security
Methodist Hospital has a dedicated 24-hour security team patrolling the campus. They respond promptly to any concerns, requests and lost and found inquiries. For security assistance, call (210) 575-4763 or dial "00" from any hospital phone.
Social services
Patients sometimes require special needs while in the hospital and when planning to return home. Our licensed social workers and case managers provide a variety of services to assist patients, their families and friends. Please tell your nurse if you would like to connect with a social worker.
Spiritual support & chapel
The hospital chapel is located on Sub Level 1 in the central tower. The chapel is open at all times to every denomination.
Chaplains are available to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and friends. To request chaplain services, call the Hospital Operator or tell your nurse you would like a chaplain visit.
Smoking policy
Smoking and tobacco use are not permitted anywhere on the hospital grounds, including outdoor areas and parking lots. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy environment.
Valuables and personal belongings
We request that you leave all valuables at home. Methodist Hospital does not accept responsibility for lost or stolen valuables or personal items. If necessary, your nurse can arrange to store small items in the hospital safe.

Definitions
Patient representative (as defined by CMS): This is the individual who is legally responsible for making medical decisions on a patient’s behalf. (See also: Advance Directives Withholding & Withdrawing Life Sustaining Treatment and Treatment Disagreement Process and Consent to Medical Treatment.)
Patient support person (as defined by CMS): This person does not necessarily have to be the same as the patient representative. A support person could be a family member, friend or any individual who supports the patient during the course of the hospital stay. In cases of pediatric patients, Child Protective Services (CPS) may assign a support person as part of a CPS Safety Plan.
Qualifying period of disaster (QPD): Texas House Bill 2211 defines a QPD as the period of time in which a hospital is declared to be a disaster based on an infectious disease. The declaration can be made by a governor, state official or designated local official.
