Why did Methodist Hospital Hill Country adopt TeleHealth Visits?
In order to reduce our foot traffic and support social distancing recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control, we have started offering telemedicine services to our patients. If appropriate based on the purpose of the visit, Methodist Hospital Hill Country Providers would like to conduct your scheduled appointment remotely so you are able to stay home.
How do I participate?
You can join your TeleHealth Visit with a smartphone (iPhone, Android or Pixel) or tablet by clicking on the text link sent out 30 minutes prior to your appointment or downloading the Healow App. You may also join with a computer with a camera and microphone by logging into your portal account or clicking on the email link sent out 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
To request a TeleHealth visit or if you are unsure if you are set up correctly, contact an Methodist Hospital Hill Country Team member at (830) 990-1404. We will work with you to confirm your email address, review your scheduled appointment, and help ensure you can access your account 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
How early do I need to log in?
Please review the telemedicine instructions and plan on logging in to your portal 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. There will be some questions for you to answer before you can initiate your visit with the provider. You will also have the ability to pay your usual co-pay prior to starting your virtual visit to avoid receiving a statement. If you experience any technical difficulties or if you have questions, give us a call at (830) 990-1404.
What if I do not want to participate in a TeleHealth Visit?
If you do not want to participate in a Televisit or do not have a web-enabled device, a Methodist Hospital Hill Country Team Member will work with you. Your provider will need to review your appointment and may need to reschedule your visit. Our Team Members will work with your provider and call you back to confirm next steps for your appointment.
