Advanced cardiac catheterization lab unveiled at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak
San Antonio, Texas — Methodist Hospital Stone Oak celebrated the opening of its new advanced cardiac catheterization lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a significant advancement in the hospital's cardiovascular services. This expansion is designed to enhance patient care by increasing procedural capacity and reducing wait times for critical interventions.
The new lab is equipped to perform a wide range of procedures, including cardiac angiograms and interventions, peripheral angiograms and venograms, pulmonary embolism cases, pericardial access and drains, and lumbar drains. This versatility allows the hospital to address a broader spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
"This new, state-of-the-art Cath lab is a major step forward in our ongoing commitment to expanding and enhancing our hospital’s capabilities," said Michael Beaver, CEO of Methodist Hospital Stone Oak. "This investment not only strengthens our ability to deliver advanced cardiac care, but also reaffirms our mission of providing our community with exceptional, life-saving care close to home."
The addition of this lab is part of a broader $104 million expansion project at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, which includes adding two new floors and 54 beds to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. The expansion is expected to be completed by early 2027.
